Nintendo is not a mythological creature

Internets, this post is for you.

Nintendo likes money. I will let you catch your breath and take that in. Why do I bring such news of devastation, you ask? No real reason other than boredom. Internets, you were ablaze with anger when you found out that the Nunchuck was sold apart from the Wiimote. And my dear internets, you were even more ablaze with burning hatered when you found out that for both of those parts, you would have to shell out 40$ in your parents cold hard cash (I only say parents to spark a laugh among the elite. There are those of us who work and spend the monies).

Internets, a series of tubes you might be, had your father heard the words that escaped your mouth that day your mouth would most certainly be washed out with soap. Now I know this is old information, water under the bridge if you will, but some words still need to be said.

First: This "Wiimote" is something that gamers have not had before. Lets be honest, do you honestly think that a magical wand of happiness would cost 10 bucks?

Second: We are getting the actual console from one heck of a launch price. 250$ for crying out loud, if you liked strippers, you could get a truck load of them for the price difference between this and the 360/PS3.

Third: Nintendo is a company. Companies like money. Do not get me wrong, I was slightly upset when I found out that the Nunchuck would not come with the Wiimote. This is felt even more so now seeing as it is nigh impossible to find one or the other in stores. Still though, Nintendo followed up in a way that says, "Sup. We make games and we need money". Yeah yeah, cry it up, internets, this is easily the lesser of all the so called "next-gen evils"

Fourth and lastly: Internets, you have a disorder. I know, it is one that can not be helped for the most part but you speculate worse than a man soliciting sex expecting to not get a disease. Point is, you say all these fantastic ideas you have about games/consoles before there release and then get upset when they don't follow through on ideas that only you and a internet message board have talked about.

Nintendo is not a mythological creature.

I agree with you, but think about this for a moment: $250 for the console, but it is a console that, thus far, is made to be enjoyed with others. Now it's up to beyond $300. LAMES?

Well, you also have to take into account that Nintendo must sell at a profit (Nintendo only competes in interactive entertainment).

Damon, if you're going to take into account an extra controller, the price of the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360 would amount to 640 and 450, respectively. 310 dollars among those prices is still relatively cheap.

I think the 360 and PS3 offer far more in terms of single player content, (especially 360) not to mention the fact that they don't base their entire marketing approaches around multiplayer titles.

And? Do you expect Nintendo to give you an extra controller for free? 60 dollars for a controller that is wireless, has a speaker, and utilizes motion sensing technology is a pretty good deal if you ask me.

310 dollars is still a relatively low price next to a 400 dollar 360 and 500/600 dollar Playstation 3.
